change, replace, alter, adjust 的区别：中文速懂版
change 是最泛的“变了”；replace 是“旧的拿掉，换成新的”；alter 是“保留基础，部分改动”；adjust 是“微调、校准，让它更合适”。
change = 变得不同；replace = 用新的取代旧的；alter = 在保留原本基础上做部分修改；adjust = 为了更合适、更准确而进行调整。

如何选择单词
用于最泛的“改变”：想法、计划、密码、主题、时间表都可以。
用于“替换/更换”：旧物、旧文件、旧零件、旧岗位被新的取代。
用于“部分修改”：衣服、合同、文本、计划在原基础上被改动。
用于“调节/校准”：高度、音量、镜子、设置、时间、行为需要微调时。

change
change = 变了，但不说明怎么变。
She changed her mind about the trip.
她改变了对这次旅行的想法。
We had to change the schedule after the flight was delayed.
航班延误后，我们不得不更改日程。
不要在需要明确“替换”时也只用 change。比如说明书里如果是旧零件拆掉再装新零件，replace 通常更准确。
change 是最安全的基础词；如果你说不清变化方式，先考虑它。
replace
replace = A 被 B 取代；A 不再继续使用。
Please replace the broken bulb with a new one.
请把坏掉的灯泡换成新的。
The company replaced the old software with a faster system.
公司把旧软件替换成了更快的系统。
replace 后面常用 replace A with B，表示“用 B 替换 A”。不要把介词写错成 replace to 或 replace on。
看到“换掉旧的、装上新的”，优先想 replace。
alter
alter = 不是全部换掉，而是对原有内容做局部修改。
She had the dress altered before the wedding.
她在婚礼前把裙子拿去改了一下。
The lawyer altered the wording of the contract.
律师修改了合同里的措辞。
不要把 alter 当成“完全替换”。如果是把旧电池拿掉换新电池，用 replace 更对，不是 alter。
alter 很像“改版”，不是“重做”。
adjust
adjust = 微调，使其更合适或更好用。
Adjust the mirror before you start driving.
开车前先调整一下后视镜。
We adjusted the meeting time to fit everyone’s schedule.
我们把会议时间调整到适合所有人的安排。
和 alter 相比，adjust 更常用于“设置、位置、角度、大小、时间”的细微调节，不是大改。
adjust 可以理解成“把旋钮拧到刚刚好”。
常见错误
中文学习者最容易把 change 当万能词。其实如果是“旧的被移走，新的放上去”，通常用 replace；如果是“改尺寸、改设置、调位置”，更常用 alter 或 adjust。
记忆提示
先问自己：旧东西还在吗？不在了，多半是 replace；基础还在，只是改了一部分，是 alter；只是让它更顺手、更准确，是 adjust；只说“变了”，用 change。
